Major Accountabilities
- Manages all financial functions in one-person accounting office.
- Maintains current and historical accounting records of Crisis Services of North Alabama financial activities and provides financial data to the Executive Director, Board Treasurer, and auditor.
- Maintains accounting journals of original entry, cash receipts journal and general journal; posts all original entries to ledger accounts and subsidiary accounts and keeps running balances including restricted fund accounts.
- Prepares and records bank deposits; makes Payroll General Journal entries each payroll for salaries, taxes, and benefits to allocate cost by program and grant; ensures preparation of quarterly tax reports and end-of year forms (W2’s, 941’s.
- Prepares monthly financial statements for Executive Director and Board of Directors. Prepares yearly Profit and Loss Statement by program; reconciles monthly all checking accounts, statements, and maintains current records of investment accounts.
- Prepares information and billing on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis by CSNA program, as required for grants and funding sources; prepares funding applications by providing historical and current data, and forecasts projected requirements; assists in preparation and revision of annual budgets and grant proposal
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree with special emphasis in Accounting Principles and a minimum of three years of related experience in general accounting practice.
- Knowledge of non-profit funds accounting, preferred
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online software
- Proficiency in working with Excel pivot tables, preferred
- Working knowledge of computer hardware and software
- Completion of CSNA training program
- Abilityto managetime, work independently, and handle several projects at once
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Abilityto work flexible schedule
- Reliable car, valid Alabama driver’s license, and automobile insurance (as required by law)
- Discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality
