Do you like animals? We are looking for someone to join our team.
Jelly's Place is a nonprofit animal rescue and no-kill shelter located in San Pablo. We are hiring part and full-time animal care attendants to help at our shelter. Work hours are available 9am to 5pm. Work shifts are flexible but people work at least one weekend day and some holidays. Join our dynamic team of animal lovers and make a difference in the lives of animals.

Animal Care Assistants are responsible for the daily cleaning and maintaining of animal living quarters, including buildings and kennels, completing animal feeding shifts, assisting with basic medical care for the animal residents, as well as many miscellaneous tasks such as laundry, restocking supplies, bathing animals, showing animals to the public, walking dogs, and/or socializing cats/dogs. See below for specific responsibilities and duties. Attendants learn the different areas of our shelter.
Part-time and full-time available.

Qualifications

• Passionate about working with animals
• Patient and able to maintain composure in stressful situations
• Reliable and dependable
• Good observation skills
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including cold/wet weather
• Ability to lift 40 pounds
• Ability to work well with a variety of people
• Strong communication and listening skills
• Ability and willingness to follow detailed instructions and meet time sensitive demands
• Ability to learn and process new information quickly
• Team player and self-motivator, also comfortable working on own
• Committed to Jelly's Place's mission and a desire to be a part of the Jelly's Place family
• Willing to work on weekend/holidays/varying shift times


Basic Job Duties
• Daily cleaning duties and maintaining the shelter areas
• Re-stocking supplies
• Completing animal feeding shifts
• Assisting with basic animal health care, including medicating sick animals
• Monitoring animals and reporting animal health concerns directly to Shelter Manager and/or Director
Walking and playing with dogs (and cats) as time permits
• Assisting with volunteers

Hourly rate dependent on experience.
