Experienced Part-Time Veterinary Assistant/RVT needed for a small animal veterinary hospital in Rock Hill, SC.

We are looking for someone with a passion for animals. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and multi-tasking skills, as well as a keen attention to detail and willingness to learn. She/he will be able to work well as part of a cohesive team.

She/he will also possess the following qualifications:

• Working knowledge of restraint, medications, diseases, client education, medical, surgical and dental procedures
• Show proficiency in all radiological and clinical laboratory diagnostics
• Have the ability to calculate drugs, anesthetize, intubate, monitor and recover a patient undergoing a surgical procedure
• Demonstrate above average proficiency in the placement of IV catheters, venipuncture, and administering injections
• Knowledge of normal patient (cat/dog) parameters and basic medical terminology
• Ability to work both independently with little supervision as well as part of a team
• Strong work ethic, punctual and good organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Able to lift 50 lbs alone
• Some schedule flexibility/available for some Saturday work hours
• Should be willing to be cross-trained fully in reception duties such as scheduling, answering phones, and client communication
• Will also assist in opening and closing hospital, cleaning duties and maintaining hospital equipment and overall cleanliness
