Essential Job Functions:

• Visiting all farms on a weekly basis. Enforcing company SOP
• Provide reports on growers and overall herd health. 
• Understanding ventilation systems and controllers to provide proper environment for the animal.
• Help to determine proper diagnosis and treatment and deliver medication accordingly. Marking fat hogs accurately and efficiently.
• Deliver and administer oral vaccinations as required.
• Inform Production Manager of any significant health challenges to determine proper treatment and follow- through.

Competencies:

• Counting and grading incoming pigs accurately and precisely.
• Receive and respond to calls daily to evaluate health problems and concerns. 
• Dependable and willing to work to meet goals and deadlines.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in agriculture, animal science, or related field. At least 1 year of experience in the swine industry.

Work Requirements:

This position will require minimal office time and will be primarily on a farm and on the road. While on site the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles. The employee will also be in facilities with pigs from 12-350 pounds, these animals can be unpredictable at times. The noise level is usually moderate but occasionally may be loud. PPE will be provided and must be utilized when applicable and according to safety standards. Typical working hours are 7am to 5pm, however long hours, nights, and weekends may be required if necessity demands them.v
