We are seeking a highly creative and motivated individual to join our marketing team. The Social Media Strategist will be responsible for implementing our social media strategy, creating engaging content, managing our online community, and analyzing campaign performance. The ideal candidate possesses an understanding of social media platforms and trends; a passion for storytelling; strong creativity; is skilled in video creation and editing software; works well in a team environment; seeks to learn and understand new concepts; and enjoys working with and engaging fellow coworkers and community members. 

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Works with the Department Director to develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy to increase brand awareness and drive engagement
  • Creates and curates engaging social media content, including but not limited to: visuals, videos, and written posts
  • Monitors social media channels for industry trends, competitive analysis, and user feedback, and provide actionable insights
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to integrate social media campaigns with other marketing initiatives
  • Helps to drive social media advertising campaigns
  • Tracks and analyzes the performance of social media campaigns and use data-driven insights to continuously improve results
  • Creates videos for social media and other marketing initiatives
  • Plans and execute classes for community members on educational topics related to the industry. Utilizes video both in the class content and in promoting the classes. 
  • Helps with the planning and execution of marketing-related events
  • Attends seminars / training sessions / conferences. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 
  • Minimal overtime as needed.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred 
  • Prior work experience in Social Media or Marketing (willing to modify for a recent graduate) 
  • Expertise in social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube
  • Background in video creation, with knowledge of video editing software
  • Knowledge of social media management tools, such as Hubspot
  • Excellent communication and copywriting skills, with the ability to create engaging content
  • Knowledge of digital marketing trends, including influencer marketing and user-generated content

Preferred Skills

  • Strong computer skills required
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Knowledge of Canva, or similar platform 
  • Customer Service skills, with the ability to address customer concerns and questions politely and constructively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
