Job Title: Youth Director
General Description:
Create, design and lead the youth program for middle school, and high school. This includes youth nights, Sunday school (Pod Life), summer/winter camps, service projects and mission trips.
Create a friendly and safe environment to foster a Christian community for youth. Growing in fellowship with one another and encountering Jesus in a real, authentic, and intimate way.
Work Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 1-year experience in leadership of student ministry.
- Minimum 1-year experience in program development for student ministry.
- Minimum 1-year experience in teaching
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

- Have and demonstrate an ongoing, prayerful and personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Fully supports the philosophy and vision of ALC
- Demonstrates high regard for the authority of Scripture; theologically conservative
- Conversant with and supportive of Lutheran doctrine
- Loves people; heart for Youth Ministry
- Demonstrates loyalty and commitment to team building with staff
- Professionally organized with the ability to prioritize
- Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including conflict management skills
- Be able to ensure confidentiality, discretion, and reliability
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Design effective programs and activities where the youth can use their abilities, talents, and spiritual gifts to minister to others.
- Promote community through fellowship, faith development and fun programs and activities, including Sunday morning Bible study, mid-week meetings, and activities outside of the church.
- Teach the tenets of the Christian faith and apply them to life situations.
- Promote Christian service through age-appropriate service projects and mission trips.
- Actively integrate the youth into all phases of church life at ALC.
- Encourage the development of close Christian friendships based on trust and acceptance.
- Recruit, train and support volunteers.
- Build positive attitudes toward the church and its leaders, lay and professional.
- Be a fully participating member of staff, understanding that ministry is a team effort.
- Attend meetings as required by supervisor.
- Maintain regular office hours in order to be accessible to youth, parents, staff and the congregation.
- Work in cooperation with the Children’s & Family Director.
- Build and Maintain a budget for the youth group.
- Other duties as directed.

Pay: $44,000.00 - $53,000.00 per year
