Full job description

In this role as animal caregiver at Purple PAWS you will reside at the primary residence rent free, which is equivalent to the pay listed above. Your home space is separate from where our animals and supplies are located. As our animal caretaker you will assist with the responsibilities below in the morning and evening. With the right individual we will work with you and your schedule.

Responsibilities:
- Provide care and support to animals in a professional and compassionate manner
- Assist with animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, grooming, and exercise
- Handle and train dogs using positive reinforcement techniques
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kennel areas
- Monitor animal behavior and report any changes or concerns to the supervisor
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinary staff
- Assist with veterinary appointments and transportation

- Two weeks vacation per year

- Manage volunteers to assist with all responsibilities

Requirements:
- Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of animal care practices and procedures
- Strong understanding of dog handling and training techniques
- Familiarity with kennel operations and pet grooming
- Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed

Pay: $1,500.00 per month
