Job description

Fifth-grade teachers prepare classrooms for students by setting up their teaching materials and video or computer equipment. They teach basic skills to encourage a continuous of reading and writing and keep records of student progress on tests and homework. They can also discipline students when needed. Other duties and responsibilities of a Fifth Grade Teacher job description may include:

• Teaching listening skills while making subjects fun and interesting
• Rewarding the best students with stickers, a spot on the class bulletin board, or other prizes
• Meeting with school administrators such as Principals or Vice Principals
• Following the school’s budget for classroom supplies
• Keeping up with changing technologies and teaching techniques
• Dispensing medication to students who need it and making sure that they don’t encounter any food or other substances that cause allergic reactions
• Notifying parents and getting their permission for field trips, school plays, and other activities

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $39,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year
