The company prepares new and some used boats for delivery to customers. It is important that the boats present well and everything works as expected.

This is an ideal role for someone wanting to learn about the industry, but for now wants flexibility to also pursue other interests.

50% of the role will be to clean boats. Cleaning will also help to identify work that may need to be done. The cleaning task is not difficult as the boats are mostly brand new.

The dockhand will learn professional, technical and safety practices that are generally required in the marine industry.

The other part of the role is inspecting, diagnosing and repairing a range of issues under supervision of experienced marine professionals. This can be very interesting if you have that sort of mind. These areas cover electrical, navigation, monitoring, engine, plumbing, gel coat and other issues. The more complex issues are passed to external professional trades suppliers, which makes the technical part less challenging.

Ideally the role requires 20 hours or more per week, but by agreement needs to be a minimum of 10 hours and pays $20 per hour. If you do well in the role, the hours could increase by agreement.
