We are looking for a caring and loving part-time Assistant Teacher for our 2024-2025 preschool year that runs from September to May for our 3 and 4-year-old classes. This is a great entry opportunity for early childhood teaching. The Assistant Teacher supports the Teachers and the Director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. S/he must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. Assisting the staff in implementing a quality educational program and in developing positive relationships with the children and their parents, the assistant teacher observes and documents children's interest and progress, and relays that information back to parents and staff. Assistant teachers are responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs under the direction of the Teacher and the Director.

Duties:

• Observe working hours from 9:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
• Assist and support lead teacher in preparing and organizing classroom and equipment for school opening and maintain the classroom daily/weekly.
• Assist and support lead teacher in maintaining continual communication with parents through telephone calls, personal notes, conferences, etc., as needed.
• Attend monthly staff meeting (first staff meeting August 27), Open House meeting (August 28), and any training sessions scheduled.
• Prepare the classroom for school start-up and school closing at the beginning and end of the school year.

Participate in CPR/First Aid Certification training (If certification is not current)

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must love working with children and be patient, loving and nurturing.
• Must enjoy working in a team environment with the lead teacher and other staff members.
• Prior preschool experience preferred but not mandatory.
• A strong understanding of child development.
• Child CPR and First Aid certification.
• Must clear full background check.

Must pass health screening and TB Test.

SALARY

$16 to $17 per hour
