ChartPro, Inc. has an immediate opening for a full-time Medical Record Clerk in the Atlanta area.

The candidate for this position must be:

  • Professional

  • Must have Release of Information experience
  • Must have experience with electronic medical records. EPIC, Allscripts, Athena, or EClinical experience a plus!
  • Current, working knowledge of HIPAA and HITECH.

Job Duty:

  • Interacts with requestors to identify medical records needed for request completion.
  • Prioritize release of information requests, retrieves medical records from active and inactive and interdepartmental locations, electronically tracks and delivers records in accordance with established procedures.
  • Performs self-quality checks on all work to assure accuracy of the release, confidentiality and proper invoicing.
  • Handles all requests and inquiries for patient health information whether received via mail, fax, phone or electronically.
  • Verifies the patient identity and confirms that the authorization is valid
  • Ensures the requesting party has a legal right to request a patient’s medical information and gathers appropriate documentation.
  • Ensures that subpoenas are handled appropriately and within the legal guidelines of the respectice state from which the medical records are released.
  • Provide excellent customer service by being attentive and respectful; insures understanding of customer request and follows-through as promised; and being proactive in identifying client concerns, or problems.
  • Helps resolve customer service matters in a polite manner.
  • Access computerized patient record and/or other computer systems for patient information needed to complete the medical record request.
  • Performs at established quantitative and qualitative work standards to meet company goals and objectives.
  • Promotes quality improvement, staff and patient safety, and cultural diversity through company operations and by personal performance

Pay: $16.00 - $16.50 per hour
