The Legal Assistant position provides essential support to the attorney by performing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. This role involves managing schedules, preparing legal documents, conducting research, maintaining files, ensuring that the legal team operates efficiently and effectively.
Job Description/Duties
Document Preparation:
-Draft, format, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings.
-Prepare and file legal documents with courts and administrative agencies.
-Assist in the preparation of discovery materials.
Administrative Support:
-Manage attorney schedules and calendars, including coordinating meetings and appointments.
-Answer and direct phone calls and take detailed messages as needed.
-Handle client communications, providing updates and information as directed.
File and Record Management:
-Maintain and organize physical and electronic legal files.
-Ensure documents are filed accurately and in a timely manner.
-Manage records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
Client Interaction:
-Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing updates and gathering information as needed.
-Schedule and coordinate client meetings and depositions.
Qualifications:
Education:
-Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field preferred.
Skills:
-Bilingual
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
-Strong organizational and time-management skills.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
