We seek to hire a Dietary Technician to assist the Director of Food Services in assessing individual nutritional needs, implementing dietary prescriptions, and providing feedback on nutrition therapy acceptance and tolerance.

JOB SUMMARY:

1. Collect, calculate, and record medical record nutrient intakes as necessary (Calorie count)
2. Weekly meal rounds, resident visits daily, distribution, and retrieval of residents" selective menus. 
3. Update diets/food preferences on a computer system.
4. Keep the Food Service Director informed of changes in resident status, diet, or nutritional problems. 
5. Update seating charts in dining rooms.
6. Attend weekly weight meetings. 
7. Complete MDS on the computer.
8. Complete dietary assessments annually and quarterly. 
9. Assist with tray tickets as needed.
10. Monitor the temperatures of food with test trays. 
11. Attend the Menu committee and complete minutes.
12. Attend care plan meetings.
13. Perform daily clerical duties about menus.   
14. May participate in and reinforce patient education and quality assurance monitoring.
15. Other assigned duties

QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum of an Associate Degree in nutrition is preferred.  Appropriate experience will be considered instead of an education.

Must have Long Term Care experience.

Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.

Knowledge of applicable State & Federal guidelines.

Maintain pleasant working relationships, organizational skills, and strong computer skills.

Ability to perform the essential functions of this job.
