Nelson Mandela is seeking a Library & Technology Teacher to conduct our library and technology programs in a manner that supports the instructional objectives of our school. The ideal candidate will possess a Nebraska Teacher Certificate, with a preferred endorsement in Library or Technology. This role requires exceptional skills in both library and educational technology, along with the ability to integrate these resources effectively to facilitate scholar learning.

• Ability to support teachers with the use and integration of library resources and technology into instruction.
• Ability to effectively collaborate and coordinate communications with staff, parents, scholars, and community members.

JOB GOALS:

• Provide comprehensive resources to scholars and teaching staff to facilitate the integration of practical, high-quality resources in the K-5 classroom.
• Model technology applications to increase understanding and mastery of vital education technology tools.
• Work with small and large groups of scholars during daily teaching schedules to provide instruction to improve student performance.
• Work with teachers to enhance instructional practice.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technology

• Support the implementation of grade- and age-appropriate applications of educational technology to support, enhance, and increase student learning.
• Research and implement best practices in educational technology and create lessons incorporating learning goals that allow our scholars to prepare for online/technology-driven assessments.
• Provide enrichment support for scholars functioning on or above grade level.
• Assist in providing ongoing professional development for teachers to support the use of technology for classroom instruction at differentiated levels to meet all scholars’ needs.
• Ensure consistent implementation of District initiatives and curricular oversight.
• Perform other duties within the scope of the position and certification as assigned by the appropriate administrator.

Library

• Select and acquire materials to implement the curriculum and to meet scholars' individual interests, abilities, and maturity levels.
• Organize, track, and distribute all library resources for effective use.
• Create an attractive environment and atmosphere that encourages scholars and teachers to use the media center.
• Stimulate and guide scholars in all phases of their reading, viewing, and listening so that they may effectively assimilate information.
• Provide instruction in cooperation with the staff in media and resource skills.
• Provide media center experiences to help scholars develop satisfactory personal relationships, social attitudes, and vocational and avocational interests.
