Bilingual House (FKA “May's Bilingual Preschool”) is re-opening its Packard Road Child Care Center and is looking for a qualified Program Director to begin work in late August to early September of 2024.
Responsibilities:
General management of the child care center, including the following minimum responsibilities:
Developing, implementing, and evaluating center policies and program
Administering day-to-day operations, including being available to address parent, child, and staff issues
Monitoring staff, including annual evaluations
Designating a child care staff member to be in charge of the center if absent from the facility
Finding a substitute program director meeting at least the qualifications of a Lead Caregiver if absence exceeds 30 consecutive workdays
Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the children in care in compliance with government regulation, public health guidance, and industry best practices
Facilitating the academic and social-emotional development of children in care
Coordinating with the owner to develop and implement both long- and short-term teaching plans
Supervising, appropriately delegating tasks, and providing adequate on-the-job training to other staff members to facilitate their continual professional development
Maintaining clear and professional communication between the parents and the owner
Assisting with business development through providing content for marketing (e.g. photos, videos, and brief descriptions of daily activities) and providing tours of the facility to potential customers
Maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and professional atmosphere of the facility, including both the indoor licensed areas and outdoor play areas
Requirements:
Be at least 21 years of age (required by the State licensing bureau)
Have earned a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
Meet one of the qualifications below:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in early childhood education or child development, or
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a child-related field including 18 semester hours of coursework in early childhood education or child development and 480 hours of work experience, or
Montessori credential with 18 semester hours of coursework in early childhood education or child development and 480 hours of work experience, or
Associate’s degree in early childhood education or child development including 18 semester hours of coursework in early childhood education or child development and 480 hours of work experience, or
Valid child development associate credential (CDA) with 18 semester hours of coursework in early childhood education or child development and 960 hours of work experience, or
60 college semester hours in any field with 18 semester hours of coursework in early childhood education or child development and 1,920 hours of work experience
Have completed 2 semester hours or 3.0 CEUs in child care administration or have an administrative credential approved by the department
