Cashier:

Full Job Description:

• As a cashier at Brooklyn Pizzeria, Virginia Beach, an individual will have to take and give out orders to the kitchen staff.
• He/she will have to be quick and efficient in communicating with crew members and kitchen staff to make sure the guests get their orders on time.
• A cashier will have to balance their cash drawers, listen and solve customer queries, and replace food if necessary.
• The individual has to be an ideal team player as this is a very fast-paced and fast-paced job.
• In addition, there are periods of time when you will be required to step in and wash dishes.
• As an employee, everyone steps in when necessary to help. 
• Cashiers have time to maintain the cleanliness of the dining area and wash dishes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet and welcome customers entering the restaurant and calling into the restaurant.
• Place orders for customers in-person and over the phone; upsell and maintain knowledge of menu and sauce descriptions, along with new items and promotions.
• Accurately process cash, credit card and gift card transactions.
• Answer questions from customers and make menu recommendations.
• Monitor that all orders are ready within company quote times.
• Verify that all food is presentable and double-check all orders before giving the order to the customer(s).
• Balance the register at the end of the shift and complete closing paperwork accurately.  
• Assist in maintaining a clean workplace; keep the Front of the House (FOH) clean and stocked.
• Practice safe handling procedures by following all safety and sanitation guidelines; promote safety in the workplace.
• Maintain cleanliness of the dining area by clearing and wiping down tables.
• Washing dishes and putting dishes back where they belong once cleaned.
• Maintain a professional and presentable appearance.
• Leave customer with a positive, long-lasting impression of their BROOKLYN PIZZERIA experience.
• All other duties assigned.

Line Cook

Full job description:

We are looking for an experienced Line Cook / Dishwasher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and cooking, as well as a strong understanding of kitchen safety and sanitation. The successful candidate will be able to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment while following recipes and instructions accurately. The Line Cook must also be able to work well with others and take directions well.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, cutting, and shredding.
• Follow recipes and presentation specifications.
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
• Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
• Monitor food stock and place orders when there are shortages.
• Keep up with the latest cooking techniques and recipes.

Job Type: Full-time / Part-Time

 

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

 

Shift:

• 5-to-8-hour shift
• Evening and Weekend shift

Weekly day range:

• Weekends

Pizza Cook: 

Brooklyn Pizzeria, Virginia Beach in Redmill is seeking an energetic candidate with experience making pizza, making pizza dough, working pizza ovens and is familiar and comfortable with restaurant kitchen procedures. These daily tasks - food prep, required cooking and setting up supply stations are all key components of the Kitchen’s success in ensuring Guest satisfaction at Brooklyn Pizzeria. Ability to work consistently and a willingness to learn! 

 

Details:

• 1 year pizza-making experience. 
• Consistently uses/promotes safe and sanitary food handling practices. 
• Efficiently prepares pizzas per customer order. 
• Assists with operating all kitchen equipment, maintaining the kitchen, assist with cooking other menu items and food item packaging. 
• Experience with inventory tracking and control is a plus.
• Supervisory experience is a plus.
• Punctual, responsible and reliable transportation.

Shift: Part-Time

Availability: Days, Nights, and Weekends

Pay: $15.00-$17.00
