Biorn Group is hiring 2 Fisheries Technicians for assistance on a Federal Carp Removal Project in Mattamuskeet, North Carolina.
A good candidate for this job should have proven experience operating and trailering a boat, operating a variety of fish capture equipment including nets and electrofishing gear. Candidate should be willing to work in challenging/varying weather conditions, willing to work long hours and be able to do hard physical labor.
Biorn is seeking candidates who enjoy being outdoors, have a positive attitude, ability to learn and candidates should be problem solvers.
Work schedule will vary but will likely be 7 days of work per week for 2 weeks, then 1 week off then repeat. Some days may be longer than other depending on how many fish are being removed. Lodging/transportation will be provided as a part of your compensation package. Overtime will be paid as required. This contract is expected to have consistent work for a minimum of 4 months with the possibility of an extension.
This is a great opportunity for anyone who is new to the industry, as long as you are willing to learn and work hard, we will train you on what needs to be done. The biggest technical requirement is the ability to operate/trailer a boat.
