About Nicholas House: Nicholas House’s mission is to help families who are experiencing homelessness and support them through their crisis. Nicholas House helps families who are struggling to pay rent move into affordable homes, get themselves to work and their children off to school, and ultimately lift themselves up and out of poverty and toward a better life.
About Circles: Circles of Support is a poverty reduction initiative designed to help low-income families achieve upward mobility from poverty. Circles works to help families increase their income and economic stability while also working to remove the barriers that keep people in poverty.
Our “From Surviving to Thriving” short term program that can lead into the longer-term Circles program that will be launching in 2024. Participants sign up for an 8-week course that helps them gain a better understanding of themselves and their relationship to the rest of the world. Participants will create budgets, future plans, and SMART goals and grow in community with others.
We are looking for a motivated intern who wants to be part of the “Surviving to Thriving” and “Circles” program, an exciting and innovative new initiative in our community that is working to help families who experiences homelessness move from a cycle of poverty management to a strategic focus on poverty reduction.
Intern position is available on a semester-to-semester basis (i.e., Summer, Fall, and Spring) with preference for one person to serve for multiple semesters.
