WHAT IS KIDSTRONG?

KidStrong is a science-based kids training program designed to help parents raise strong, confident, high-character kids. Our program focuses on character, physical and brain development through weekly 45-minute, age-based classes and at-home practice. We incorporate movement and fun into the learning process, empowering kids to learn more effectively

THE ROLE & SCHEDULE

  • We are looking for a camp coach with an athletic or coaching background who ideally has experience in summer camps or coaching kids ages 4 - 11
  • KidStrong Camp Coach would focus on coaching children on brain, physical and character development that stems from a designed camp curriculum
  • Ideal candidate must also be comfortable speaking to parents/guardians regarding any incidents that take place during camp
  • Camps run when school is out, from 9am - 2:30pm
  • Additional opportunity to increase scheduled hours through party coaching hours & KidStrong Class coaching - may require additional training

COACH RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Camp sizes of up to 20 children, ages ranging from 4 - 11 *may vary depending on locations
  • Teach the KidStrong Camp curriculum as provided by the HQ programming team
  • Must be able to ensure camp both start and end on schedule and follow appropriate pace of curriculum
  • Greet students as well as parent(s)/guardian(s) as they arrive to camp
  • Maintain dynamic, fun, motivational and professional demeanor when leading camp
  • Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various exercises
  • Keep an accurate record of attendance at all times
  • Ensure cleanliness of the center including the lobby, bathrooms, and blue floors - this includes taking out the trash, sweeping and mopping, wiping down equipment, and sanitizing the mat at the end of a shift
  • Communicate professionally with co-workers in Slack, our company messaging system, including periodic checks of messages when not in centers
  • Complete trainings through LearnUpon as required by the HQ Training and Certification team
  • Must be able to work in a physically intensive environment - coaches may cover multiple miles in a shift moving through camp, lift and repeatedly move equipment up to 25 pounds in weight.
  • Must be comfortable working "hands-on" with kids to ensure proper technique and ensure student safety.
  • Attend additional mandatory staff meetings as required by KidStrong Director
  • Must obtain complete In-Center Camp Rollout, Camp Coach Exam, and be signed off by a KidStrong Director
  • Supervision, safety, and program implementation for campers while ensuring the well-being of all children

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Passion for working with children is non-negotiable!
  • Prior experience coaching students within the appropriate KidStrong age is preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics is preferred
  • CPR certified
  • Positive, motivating and effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-starter who just gets a job done

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
