Responsibilities:
- Assist the Oral Surgeon during procedures
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental X-rays
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical documentation
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring models and trimming impressions
- Ensure infection control protocols are followed, including proper sterilization of instruments and equipment
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent experience
- X-Ray certification required
- Knowledge of medical coding and insurance billing procedures
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
