Currently seeking a Summer Camp Kitchen Manager available from June 12 - July 29. Applicants must be joyous, positive, flexible, dependable, punctual and able to follow directions. Must also have a deep appreciation for clean, nutritious, organic, healthy food and recognize the importance of a beautiful presentation. An understanding of cooking with wood in a natural, outdoor setting to include wood stoves, cob ovens and an open hearth is necessary and must process a Serve-Safe certificate or a willingness to become certified. Applicant may live on site or if local, choose to commute.
Tasks include but may not be limited to:
*Menu planning
*Grocery shopping & organization
*Adherence to a set budget
*Obtain & manage camp cooks
*Maintain sanitary practices according to Primitive Camp Kitchen/Serve-Safe Guidelines
*Utilize food from the TI kitchen garden in menu planning
*.Work with camp Directors to assist the overall program in all aspects
*Implement camp philosophies in all aspects of the kitchen atmosphere
*Maintain a beautiful, attractive, welcoming kitchen space
Salary commensurate with experience and is negotiable.
