This is a part-time to full-time position. Hours can vary week to week depending on demand. Located in Long Beach, training takes place outdoors or at a client's home.
- Professional Dog Trainer Certification completion CCPDT or equivalent and/or experience with reactivity
- Prior hands-on experience working with/handling dogs
- Experience handling dogs safely and maintaining dogs below emotional threshold
- Knowledge of canine behavior and force-free dog training methods

Able to lift 45 pounds
Physically able to work with multiple energetic puppies and dogs of varying sizes
Physically able to walk with a pack of dogs for at least two hours
Proficient with Smart phone features: texting, picture & video, posting on Instagram, etc.
Proficient in managing calendar schedule of appointments and work duties
Safety:
Ensure a safe environment for the dogs under your care
Never leave dogs unattended
Use good judgment when interacting with a dog
Duties:
Assist in daily activities including, but not limited to:
- Evaluate, create and manage client's training plans
- Schedule, meet and follow up with clients
- Manage pop-up session bookings, clients and progress
- Manage client accounts, notes, communications and recommendations
- Implement school program with students
- Take inventory of dogs, equipment, and sanitation of vehicles and equipment
- Setup and breakdown of all training equipment
- Ensure collars and leashes are properly fitted
- Teach on-leash walking to clients and dogs
- Safely teach how to socialize client's dogs
- Teach clients and dogs basic, intermediate and advanced skills
- Teach clients and dogs American Kennel Club Certification curriculum
- Take pictures and videos
- May be required to transport dogs in personal vehicle
- Lead and/or assist clients to teach them skills taught in school
- Lead and/or assist with group dog training classes and workshops
- Manage a group of clients and their dogs, report cards and communication
