We are seeking a passionate and experienced Instrumental Music Teacher (all instruments) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in teaching various musical instruments, possess excellent communication skills, and have a solid commitment to music education. The Instrumental Music Teacher will instruct students of all ages and skill levels, foster a supportive learning environment, and promote a love of music. The classes are offered on weekdays (morning, early afternoon, or afternoon) at public schools in the Northern Virginia area. 

Responsibilities:

  1. Teach individual and group lessons in various musical instruments, such as piano, guitar, violin, cello, flute, trumpet, saxophone, drums, etc.
  2. Develop customized lesson plans tailored to each student's needs and skill levels.
  3. Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to students to enhance their musical abilities and confidence.
  4. Demonstrate proper techniques and methods for playing musical instruments.
  5. Introduce music theory, sight-reading, and other fundamental concepts to students.
  6. Prepare students for orchestra or band performances
  7. Stay informed about current trends and advancements in music education and instructional methods.
  8. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessments.
  9. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that inspires creativity, passion, and a lifelong appreciation for music.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field 
  2. Proven proficiency in playing and teaching one or more musical instruments.
  3. Previous teaching experience in private lessons, schools, or community music programs.
  4. Strong understanding of music theory, technique, and repertoire across various musical genres.
  5. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  6. Ability to motivate and inspire students of all ages and backgrounds.
  7. Patient, flexible, and compassionate approach to teaching music.
