Sweet James, a dynamic and rapidly growing law firm, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist with expertise in trust accounting to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing trust accounts, handling heavy transaction volumes, and ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Process and review invoices, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payments.
  • Manage and reconcile trust accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal regulations.
  • Process heavy transaction volumes related to trust accounts, including deposits, disbursements, and transfers.
  • Record and categorize financial transactions, maintaining detailed and organized records.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to ensure proper accounting treatment for trust-related matters.
  • Generate financial reports and statements for review by management and external parties.
  • Assist in audits and examinations related to trust accounting practices.
  • Stay informed about changes in trust accounting laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist with a focus on trust accounting, preferably in a law firm.
  • Strong understanding of trust accounting principles and legal compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.
