Voice and Data Technician performs a variety of skilled technical work in configuration, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of telecommunications equipment, voice (traditional and VoIP) physical, data network systems and associated equipment. Diagnose and test voice and data network infrastructure.
• Configure, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot telephony systems and data network and
associated technologies in compliance with established processes and standards.
• Ability to maintain, configure, and troubleshoot routers and switches. Must have knowledge of
MAC and IP addressing.
• Ability to maintain, configure and troubleshoot traditional telephony components.
• Ability to maintain, configure and troubleshoot VoIP end points and voicemail accounts.
• Understanding and ability to install infrastructure cabling, i.e. fiber, copper, and coax.
• Commercial installation, termination, pull, repair and replace low voltage cables for data, voice
and surveilance cameras. Install cable supports, equipment racks and trays. Terminate data
jacks and patch panels.
• Ownership of basic telecom tools: Punch down, snips, wire strippers, cordless drill, Hard Hat
Boots, Safety Glasses, etc.
• Familiarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA or NEC Standards a plus
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check
• MUST HAVE 2+ YEARS EXPERIENCE
