Position Summary and Scope of Responsibility

This paid Engineering Technician internship involves the support of day to day operations of a municipal water distribution and sewer collection system. 

Examples of work performed:

• Development of construction drawings using CAD and organized storage of engineering records and technical schematics. 
• Entering of data into Geographic Information Systems (GIS) databases using techniques such as coordinate geometry, keyboard entry of tabular data, manual digitization of maps, scanning and automated conversion to vectors or other sources from digital data. 
• Review existing and/or incoming data for accuracy, usefulness, quality, and completeness of documentation.

   KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES  

• Knowledge of ArcGIS Pro to digitize, analyze, process, and display geospatial data.
• Knowledge of UAVs, data collection, and processing.
• Knowledge of CAD applications.
• Ability to work independently on projects in a timely manner.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS  

Must possess or obtain a valid driver’s license with insurable driving record.
