Head Lifeguard

We’re looking for experienced Head Lifeguards to work at the CHS Aquatics Center in Gilroy, CA. Job responsibilities include supervising lifeguards and swim instructors on duty, aiding in staff in-service training, and eventually teaching lifeguard certification courses.

Seasonal, Part-Time

Up to 30-40 hours a week

Spring: Saturday, May 25 - Sunday, June 9, 2024 

• 4:30 - 7:30 PM (Weekdays)
• 12:00 - 5:00 PM (Weekends)

Summer: Tuesday, June 11 - Sunday, August 18, 2024 (Closed Mondays)

• Weekdays: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
• Weekends: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM  

Fall:  Saturday, August 24 - Sunday, September 1

• 12:00 - 5:00 PM (Weekends)

Pay: $19.50 + per hour (based on experience and certifications)

We offer 50% reimbursement on all certification courses for new hires.

$300 Bonus: qualify with a full season of work (Summer 2024)

QUALIFICATIONS

Ages 18+ with a High school Diploma or equivalent

2+ years of lifeguard and/or swim instructor experience required

Current ARC or equivalent Lifeguard certification required

Current Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification preferred

Current (or ability to obtain) an ARC Lifeguard Management training and Lifeguard Instructor certification within 30 days of hire

1+ year experience in a leadership role preferred

Ability to pass pre-employment verbal, swim, and in-water skills tests
