The Brandon Area Soccer Association (BASA) in Brandon, SD is looking for a Director of Coaching who will report directly to the BASA Board of Directors.  The director of coaching will be responsible for oversight of the BASA training curriculum, its coaches, and its trainers.  Duties of this position include the coaching and organization of camps and clinics, coordination of training sessions for both our U6-U14 recreational programs and our U9-U18 competitive programs, along with helping to secure additional trainers to lead the training sessions.  A pivotal part of this role will be to help develop and deliver the BASA methodology through organized training sessions.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead/Coordinate 3 to 5 trainings a week for spring and fall soccer seasons.     
  • Provide the BASA Board with monthly reports on programs directly involved in, including visions for age-appropriate curricula and future trainer needs.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner as a representative of BASA.
  • Coordinate summer camps, BASA led clinics (both recreational and competitive).
  • Work effectively with BASA United and Rec Administrator(s).
     

QUALIFICATIONS

  • On-field experience required: both playing and coaching experience preferred. 
  • Coaching license or willing to work to coaching license (D, national, or above).
  • A passion for coaching and developing players, coaches and trainers.
  • Demonstrate strong communications skills and ability to educate others.
  • Have own transportation.
  • Portray a willingness to attend coaching education, respond to BASA needs and vision, and have a growth mindset. 
  • Demonstrate the ability to think and plan strategically, adjust on the fly, and be autonomous in training sessions.
  • Director of coaching must be a team player, who demonstrates the ability to operate as part of an integrated multi-functional organization.
  • Communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
