Job: Drywall Estimator

Job description: the ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing quotes (materials, labor, and equipment), evaluating projects requirements, such as blueprints and specifications. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are crucial for accurately assessing project needs and costs. Additionally, effective communication with contractors, suppliers, and customers is essential to ensure a successful project. Flexibility to incorporate new tasks and responsibilities. Proficiency in estimating software.

Responsibilities

1.- Follow company processes, policies, and procedures.

2.-Preparation of information for bids. Type of project, characteristics, and particularities.

3.-Analyzing project specifications and blueprints to determine the quantity of materials needed for drywall installation. Estimators also assess labor costs, including the number of workers required and the time needed to complete the project. Additionally, equipment rentals.

4.-Prepare the detailed cost estimates and bids for customers, considering factors like material prices, labor rates, equipment rentals, and overhead expenses.

5.-Field inspections on ongoing projects to verify quantities use against bid.

6.-Manage information about quantities consumed per project to update historical data.

7.-Continuosly update waste factors for all different project types.

8.-Actively search for the best suppliers and vendors.

9.-Evaluate suppliers at the end of each project.

10.-Provide support for other related activities when required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Spanish and English speaker
• 2 years of experience
• Estimating software skills
• Plans reading
• Ability to read and understand projects submittals and RFIs relevant to drywall
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
