ENTRY-LEVEL SAFETY COORDINATOR

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Safety Coordinator. In this role, you will support our safety initiatives and play a vital part in promoting a culture of safety excellence. The ideal candidate is passionate about workplace safety, possesses good communication skills, and demonstrates a willingness to learn and grow in the field of safety. This is an entry-level position, providing a great opportunity for career development and advancement.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the implementation and maintenance of safety policies, procedures, and programs.
  2. Conduct regular safety inspections and observations to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  3. Collaborate with site personnel to promote a safe work environment and provide guidance on safe work practices.
  4. Support incident investigations by collecting data, conducting interviews, and assisting in the development of corrective actions.
  5. Assist in the coordination and delivery of safety training programs for employees, including new hire orientations and toolbox talks.
  6. Maintain safety documentation and records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  7. Stay updated on safety regulations, industry best practices, and emerging trends in the field of safety.

 

Requirements:

Associate degree in occupational safety and health or a related field OR equivalent work experience in the field of safety.

Demonstrated passion for workplace safety and a strong desire to pursue a career in the safety field.

Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Basic knowledge of safety regulations and standards (OSHA, BCSP, etc.).

Willingness to learn and develop skills in the safety profession.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Relevant internships or work experience in safety or a related field.

BCSP certifications (e.g., CHST, STS, GSP) or willingness to pursue certification.
