Lifeguard/Swim Instructor

The Swimming Swan is hiring seasonal lifeguards & swim instructors to work at the City of Delano community pool. No experience necessary! We’re looking for people who love being outdoors, learning lifesaving skills, and working with a team and their community.

Seasonal: Memorial Day - Labor Day 2024, May 25-Sept 2

Pool Hours: 

• May 25-June 2: Sat/Sun only 7am-5pm
• June 8-July 26: M-F 7am-7pm, Sat/Sun 7am-5pm
• July 27-Sept 2: Sat/Sun only 7am-5pm

Swim Lessons may be additional hours

Duties: lifeguarding pool area & teaching group swim lessons to students ages 6 mos+

Pay: 

• $17 (Lifeguarding only)
• $18 (Lifeguarding and Swim Instruction

Free lifeguard training for new hires with a signed promise to work 100 days.

$300 Bonus: qualify with a full season of work (May 25-Sept 2)

$150 employee referral bonus after 30 days of employment

QUALIFICATIONS

Ages 15+

Ability to complete & pass an ARC or equivalent Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification

Ability to pass pre-employment verbal skills test

Ability to pass a swim and in-water skills test when applicable

All applicants are subject to background screenings and (when applicable) drug testing

Strong customer service background preferred
