Youth Pastor – Job Duties 20-30 hours per week (part time), or full-time with Christian Education Leader duties
The primary responsibility for this position will be the spiritual development of emerging / young adults (ages 12-29). This includes teaching bible literacy, discipleship and disciple-making.
Primarily report to Lead Pastor. In addition, work closely with Church Council, Youth Ministry Board and Christian Education Board
Create, provide, and lead activities for youth and young adults
Teach in accordance to the LCMC Profession of Faith
Active thought leader in the spiritual / numerical growth of the youth / young adult programs
Assist with spiritual growth of all Church Members
Preach to Congregation up to 8 times per year based on experience level
Participate in creative and timely communications (Church communication systems, Social Media, Web-site)
Manage a budget
Assist the Church Staff as needed

Recruit, Train, and Manage Teachers
Curriculum Development
Sunday School
Other Adult Learning Opportunities
Adult Bible Study
Leadership of Special Events (VBS, Christmas Program, etc)
Delegate work to a broad base of volunteers
Thought leadership to grow the Christian Education Process and Student Population
Skill and Experience Requirements for the Youth Pastor Position
Currently furthering education in a related field.
Additional education including a degree in a related field with experience is preferred
Christian Theology Understanding (including Lutheran / LCMC principles)
Flexible work hours to meet demands of youth and young adult availability
Teaching experience / skill
Christian Education experience is preferred
Demonstrated Leadership Skills
Initiative to create robust experiences for youth / young adults
Administrative Skill and Experience
Advanced Team Skills
