Toddler – Lead Teacher Job Description

We are looking to employ a fully qualified toddler teacher to care and nurture our toddlers from Olive Tree Day School. Someone who has a passion for instilling values in young children. The toddler teacher should possess high energy and the ability to handle the demands of young ones with different personalities and needs.

Monday - Thursday: 8:00 am - 3:15 pm

Pay for this job is $17.00

To ensure success, the lead toddler teacher should display a gentle and nurturing personality, and the patience to assist each infant or child to mature cognitively. They should be able to assist in developing the infants’ and children's social skills as they interact with each other.

Lead Teacher Responsibilities:

Guiding toddlers through education/development programs: music, stories, language development, motor skills.
Helping them to get in a routine of the day
Thinking on their feet and responding to each child’s needs efficiently.
Displaying a patient and calm personality coupled with a loving approach to every child.
Contributing positively to the behavior and social interaction of the children.
Building secure relationships with the children.
Working closely with the principal and department head to ensure that guidelines are adhered to.
Keeping a diary of the day’s events for parent perusal.
Reporting accidents, illness, and unusual behavior of children to director.
Ensuring close communication with parents throughout the day should the need arise.

Lead Teacher Requirements:

Must be informed and knowledgeable on Title 22 regulations for Toddler Care
2- 5 experience teaching in a childcare center ages 0-5 years old
12 units completed in Child Development and 3 units in infant / toddler coursework
Infant and Toddler Units from Accredited College - Must have 3 infant/toddler units

If you do not meet the above requirements, licensing will not permit you fit for a lead teacher.

Bachelor’s degree in early childhood development. (preferred)
High school diploma or associate degree
CPR certified and trained.
Complete background check and health examination.
Previous experience in a preschool.
A passion for working with babies and toddlers.
Patient, nurturing and thoughtful.
Good communication skills.
Maintain discretion around children's records.
Mandated Reporter Certified
Immunizations record with MMR, TDAP

Salary: $17.00

Schedule:

7 hour shift - Candidate must be able to work through June and we are closed in July. School starts again second week of August.

Ability to commute/relocate:

Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

License/Certification:

CPR Certification (Preferred)
Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)

Work Location: One location

Immunizations: MMR, TB Test, TDAP.
