POSITION SUMMARY:
SAP Certified Addiction Counselor works as part of a multi-disciplinary team in providing supervision to employees as well as supervision and services to adults with substance use disorder. The Certified Addiction Counselor also provides services including but not limited to client supervision, transporting residents to appointments, crisis intervention, counseling services, and mediation management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitates individual, group, and psych- education counseling sessions with Clients.
- Collaborates with clients to design and implement Master Treatment Plan’s objectives.
- Coordinates w/other treatment team members when specialized services are necessary.
- Recognizes when Clients are in need of medical or psychiatric services.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal to high volumes of stress.
- Develops an individualized treatment plan, representing a comprehensive continuum of care and addressing follow-up service needs to prevent relapse for each participant on their caseload.
- Perform any/all other duties as assigned by your assigned supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in counseling and social work
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with substance use disorder (SUD) specific population.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work with individuals and groups.
- Certified Alcohol and/or Other Drug Counselor Level I or greater (CADC-I, CADC-II, CADC-III, LAADC), by State-approved organization (i.e. CCAPP)
- Possess strong interpersonal leadership, analytic, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent professional and personal boundaries with clients
- Valid driver’s license.
- CPR/First Aid/BLS certification
- Knowledge of Microsoft office required. Knowledge of Smartsheet and SharePoint preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to sit, rise, kneel, squat, twist, pull bend multiple times a day.
- Ability to walk with items in hand, grasp and reach as needed.
- Ability to perform with repetitive maneuvers and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work in an office environment.
