Open Position: Pre-K Lead Teacher
Trinity Learning Center is a Christian preschool and will be teaching Christian values as well as academic and social-emotional learning in a play-based setting. Our work day is from 8:30-2:30 with students in class from 9-2 each school day. We follow the Knox County school calendar and closings with a few exceptions.
This position is for a 5 day a week lead teacher in a 4 or 5 year old classroom. The position is 5 days a week and the teacher will be responsible for 10 children.
For all lead teacher positions, lesson planning, classroom management, patience, and kindness are a must. Past teaching experience preferred. CDA or higher degree in Early Childhood Development or related field required. Competitive salary with training bonus, planning time, childcare discount, and paid time off. Salary: $14.00 - $14.50 per hour (depending on education and years of experience)

Qualifications
- Must have reached legal age of 21.
- Must have High School Diploma or General Education Diploma.
- Must have an Associates(CDA) or Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or similar field for leading a 4 or 5 year old classroom
- Must have at least 3 years experience with children to lead younger classrooms in place of degree in Early Childhood Education or similar field
- Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds
- Great communication skills and a positive attitude to work with staff and families
- Love of children and passion for helping them learn and grow in Christ
- Great organization skills
- Must hold and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications (will train)
- Must pass required DHS trainings and background check
Responsibilities
- Reports to Director/Assistant Director
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times
- Submit monthly newsletter to the Assistant Director
- Responsible for planning curriculum for the children in the classroom that is TN-ELDS based, developmentally appropriate and helps children develop physically, cognitively, emotionally, socially and spiritually. (Weekly lesson plans due in to Assistant Director at a minimum of 2 weeks in advance).
- Ensuring all lesson planning, safety & emergency preparedness guidelines are implemented each day
- Gather supplies needed before school each day
- Follow all sanitization and organization procedures
- Ensure regular observation/assessments of children throughout the year
- Attend field trips if applicable
- Decorate the room according to DHS rules, including bulletin boards
- Attend team meetings with the Team Leader
- Attend monthly staff meetings
- Attend all staff trainings and complete all annual training hours required
- Be familiar & comply with all DHS state regulations as well as with Program Policies of Trinity Learning Center.
