Job Title: Siegel’s Bagel Delivery Driver (Mini Van-Class5 required)
Responsibilities:
1. Delivery and Distribution: delivery drivers are responsible for transporting bagels, groceries, raw materials and other bakery products from the production facility to delivery points. This could include delivering to retail stores, cafes, restaurants, and possibly even direct-to-consumer orders or wholesale buyers.
2. Loading and Unloading: Drivers may need to load bagels, frozen dough (trays) and bakery items onto their delivery vehicles before departure. Unloading at the destination points is also part of the job.
3. Route Planning: Efficient route planning is essential to ensure timely deliveries. Drivers need to use navigation tools and apps to map out the most optimal routes to their delivery destinations.
4. Timely Deliveries: Deliveries are typically time-sensitive, especially for food products like bagels. Drivers need to ensure that they reach their destinations within the expected delivery windows.
5. Quality Control: Bagel delivery drivers may be responsible for checking the quality and freshness of the bagels and packing before loading them onto their vehicles. Ensuring that customers receive high-quality products is crucial.
6. Customer Service: Interacting with customers at delivery points and maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor is important. This can involve providing order confirmations, handling any delivery-related questions, and possibly collecting payment and handing them written invoices.
7. Vehicle Maintenance: Bagel delivery drivers may be responsible for basic maintenance and cleanliness of their delivery vehicles. This includes regular vehicle inspections, vacuuming, dusting the loading area, fueling, washing and reporting any issues.
8. Adherence to Regulations: Drivers must adhere to all traffic rules, safety regulations, and company policies. This includes practicing safe driving habits and complying with any food safety regulations.
9. Problem Solving: If there are any issues during deliveries, such as wrong addresses or delays, drivers should be able to think on their feet and find solutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
