The Preschool teacher is responsible for providing a safe developmentally appropriate learning environment under Tennessee Child Care Licensing and all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.

The teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing the program curriculum to teach young children and implement activities to meet the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development of each child, introduce math and literacy concepts, and follow daily routines/schedules. The teacher will ensure equipment and facility are clean, well maintained, and safe at all times, comfort children, provide positive guidance, provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable, work well with others as a team, and build a collaborative partnership with parents.

While performing these duties the teacher is required to remain stationary as well as maneuver about the classroom and school building to aid, supervise, and escort students during their daily activities. Teachers should be able to sit on the floor with children and be actively engaged in age-appropriate activities and must be willing to do some general cleaning.

Qualification

Candidate must have the following: high school diploma, CDA or higher, at least two years or more experience in child care or early childhood development, be willing to attend ongoing professional development, must be able to lift at least 40 pounds and pass a background check, must have active CPR/First-Aid or willing to attend training, and a current physical
