Job Description

Busy and growing civil litigation law firm seeking a qualified and driven applicant to fill the position of litigation Legal Assistant/Paralegal. This position is responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the attorneys including the following non-exhaustive list of essential functions. Other duties may be assigned beyond those listed.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide office support to litigation attorneys
  • Gather and analyze intake information and relevant documents
  • Perform conflict checks
  • Assist attorneys with regular client communication
  • Organize and maintain case files
  • Calendaring of litigation related deadlines and office tasks associated with deadlines and oversight of timely completion of tasks
  • E-file court documents through Florida E-filing portal
  • Draft correspondence and discovery related documents with instructions from and oversight by attorneys
  • Draft pleadings and other court filings
  • Schedule depositions, hearings, mediations, and other meetings
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation and attend trial as needed
  • Any other litigation/client supported tasks assigned by attorneys

Schedule/Office Hours

Monday to Friday 8AM to 5PM (with 1 hour lunch)

Education

High school or equivalent (Required)

Associate Degree or Bachelors (Preferred)
