Opportunity:
The Direct Support Professional is a compassionate, patient individual who can support the individuals we serve with care, consideration, and advocacy. The ideal candidate will help support the individuals and ensures excellent quality of care for all individuals receiving services align with the vision, mission, and values of SECC. FT/PT shifts available

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Driver's License valid in the state of New Jersey
Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance if providing transportation for individuals receiving services.
Successful clearance of state mandated background checks and drug screening.
Patience, excellent communication and basic literacy is required.
A requirement that the employee agree to have their name checked against the central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities
All employees shall complete an application to have their name checked against the Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist individuals with daily activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene and medication administration.

Document behaviors, activities and incidents.
Utilize various verbal and physical behavioral interventions.
Facilitate community involvement by accompanying individuals on outings and activities.
Continually remain active, alert and able to respond to all scenarios.
Must cooperate with the Licensee and Department in any inspection or investigations.
Must successfully complete all required trainings
