Guest Associate- Guest Services PT Weekend

 

Samaritan House is a medical respite for homeless individuals leaving the hospital needing recuperative care.  The House Associate is responsible for the safety and care of the house and guests.

 

Job responsibilities:

  • Provide positive interactions and monitoring of guests behavior and activities.
  • Prompt and coach individuals with daily living needs such as, bathing, cleaning, social interaction, etc. as needed by each individual.
  • Record and report information and observations of guests during shift (Case notes).
  • Monitors guest medications and usage.
  • Supervise and support volunteers.
  • Prepare and serve meals as needed.
  • Coordinate socialization activities as selected by guests.
  • Maintain the house in a neat and clean manner.
  • Provide laundry service for personal clothing on Saturdays.
  • Assist guests with goals planning, basic case management, client issues, housing searches and connection to resources. 
  • Maintain supplies (food, cleaning, etc.) and alert Executive Director of any low supplies and special needs.
  • Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings and in-services and individual program planning staffing as needed.
  • Support the agencies mission, vision, and values of excellence and competence, collaboration, innovation, commitment to our community, and accountability and ownership.
  • Plan and organize work effectively and ensure its completion.
  • Demonstrate reliability by arriving to work on time and utilizing effective time management.
  • Demonstrate initiative and strive to improve processes and relationships with guests and volunteers.
  • Follow all Samaritan House rules, policies and procedures as well as applicable laws and standards.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Skills in meal preparation.
  • Driver’s licenses with clean driving record.
  • Passion for working with homeless individuals. 

 

Compensation:

  • $15 per hour
  • Saturday/Sunday 
  • 7:00AM-1:00PM or :00PM-7:00PM
  • Every other weekend
