Job description
This is an exciting career opportunity with the Reliability group at GaN Systems as a Reliability Lab Technician performing reliability testing activities such as test set up and monitoring, troubleshooting, building, and verifying hardware required for testing. This job will allow the individual to expand and learn new skills in fast-paced semiconductor industry.
Responsibilities
Entry-Level Lab Technician with SMD and QFN Soldering Experience
Position Summary: The Entry-Level Lab Technician is an integral member of our research and development team, primarily tasked with soldering, assembling, and testing electronic components. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of hands-on experience with SMD and QFN soldering techniques, coupled with a keen sense of organization for lab and cabin management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. SMD & QFN Soldering:
· Execute soldering of Surface Mount Devices (SMD) and Quad Flat No-leads (QFN) components with precision.
· Familiarize oneself with various soldering materials and equipment appropriate for the task.
· Examine and uphold solder joint quality according to industry standards.
2. Component Assembly & Testing:
· Understand and follow schematics, layouts, and other technical documentation.
· Assemble basic electronic circuits and prototypes as directed.
· Conduct functional tests on assembled components to ensure operation meets standards.
3. Lab Organization & Management:
· Organize, label, and maintain an inventory of components, tools, and materials.
· Ensure the lab space remains clean and aligned with safety protocols.
· Properly dispose of hazardous materials and waste.
4. Cabin Management:
· Arrange and manage equipment, tools, and materials within the lab cabin.
· Assist in the scheduling of maintenance for tools and equipment when necessary.
5. Documentation:
· Document test results, observations, and any anomalies encountered.
· Maintain a logbook of tasks, projects, and inventory adjustments.
· Assist in updating lab manuals, SOPs, and process flow charts as necessary.
6. Collaboration:
· Engage with engineers and other lab personnel to complete tasks efficiently.
· Provide feedback and share knowledge with team members.
7. Continuous Learning:
· Stay informed about emerging trends and techniques in electronics soldering and assembly.
· Participate in internal workshops and training sessions when available.
