Responsibilities:
Perform all relevant duties as baseball coach for ~15 6th-8th Grade baseball players
Develop and implement effective training programs for baseball players
Teach fundamental skills such as hitting, pitching, fielding, and base running
Plan and organize practice sessions to improve players' performance
Provide guidance and support to players during games and competitions
Evaluate players' strengths and weaknesses to develop personalized training plans
Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline among players
Ensure the safety of players during training sessions and games
Make lineups
Attend coach meetings to set schedule
Coordinate umpires as necessary
Communicate with parents/guardians regarding player progress and team updates
Pass Metro Nashville Public Schools background check
Qualifications:
Player - High School and college preferred, beyond college is a bonus
Coach - previous coaching experience at 14U or beyond preferred
Previous experience coaching baseball or playing at a competitive level
Strong knowledge of baseball rules, strategies, and techniques
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively work with students of different ages and skill levels
Patience and the ability to provide constructive feedback to players
Passion for the sport of baseball and a desire to inspire young athletes
CPR/First Aid certification (preferred)
Background in physical education or related field (preferred)
Timing:
Fall (October preferred) host tryouts
Fall (if possible) attend 1 weekend (Game 7 / GMB) tournament with team
Fall / Winter (if possible) - hold periodic practices
Spring - games to occur March - May
Spring - hold after school (4pm) practices Monday - Thursday either at JT Moore or Hillsboro High School (we feed Hillsboro)
