Job description
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate and comprehensive construction cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project scope, conditions, and potential risks.
- Prepare detailed take-offs and quantity surveys of materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Utilize construction estimating software and tools to generate accurate cost estimates.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
- Present cost estimates to clients and participate in bid meetings.
- Track project costs and provide ongoing cost analysis throughout the duration of the project.
- Assist in the negotiation of contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent mathematical skills for accurate quantity take-offs and cost calculations.
- Attention to detail with the ability to identify potential errors or discrepancies in project documents.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Proficient in using construction estimating software and tools.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
