Responsibilities:

  • Collect, handle, and analyze wastewater and drinking water samples following established protocols.
  • Conduct chemical and physical tests to determine water quality, including pH, turbidity, chemical oxygen demand (COD), biological oxygen demand (BOD), and more.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Prepare and standardize reagents and solutions.
  • Document and report test results accurately.
  • Interpret data and assist in generating reports for regulatory compliance.
  • Preferably, MDE certified sampler. If not, we will pay for you to get certified.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Operate and maintain essential analytical equipment and instruments.
  • Perform basic chemistry tasks such as pipetting, volumetric measurements, and the utilization of analytical balances.
  • Be comfortable in a laboratory setting involving handling common laboratory reagents, such as acids, bases, and organic solvents.
  • Perform all chemical handling safely following laboratory procedures.
  • Understand and adhere to standard operating procedures and quality control procedures established for each analytical method.
  • Perform clerical work to include sample log in, scanning, filing sample collection and other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., biology, chemistry, or related discipline)

- Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures

- Excellent mathematical skills for calculations and statistical analysis

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping

- Effective communication skills to collaborate with colleagues

- Must have US driver's license
