Higher Learning Supply Company is looking for an Assistant Retail Buyer.
Candidates must possess analytical skills, a proficiency with commonly used
business software (Microsoft Office, Google Suite, etc.), excellent written and verbal
communication skills and the ability to multitask in a growing small business environment.
Basic job expectations include, but are not limited to:
· Track sales and stock in our stores to forecast inventory need.
· Create and submit purchase orders according to needs. Accuracy and attention to detail is critical.
· Meet with vendors in the office, as well as attend trade shows and conferences to stay up to date with current products in the industry.
· Develop ideas for new merchandise and update existing merchandise.
· Monitor and maintain submitted Purchase Orders to ensure products are shipping and arriving on time.
· Work closely with buyers to assist as needed and cover for them during time off.
· Periodically travel to stores to see finished products of merchandise ordered and ensure it meets expectations.
· Minimum of 20 hours per week required and more as needed during busier times.
Requirements
· Minimum 2 years experience in retail environment
