Do you love games? Like watching people have fun? Are you creative and attentive to detail? Perplexity Games is looking for a part-time Game Master. You'll explain the rules and mission, then be "the man (or woman) behind the curtain" as you provide hints and facilitate the game experience for our escape room guests. We are the highest-rated escape room venue in Cleveland and count on our Game Masters to deliver an exceptional experience for our players.

In our real-life games, each group enters a themed room and has 60 minutes to complete a mission by finding clues and solving brain-teasing puzzles using strategy, creativity and logic. We're looking for someone who isn't afraid to be "on stage" with a group of people hanging on your every word. We need someone who can proactively get things done and can demonstrate that ability. You don't have to be a gamer though it helps if you enjoy them. If you're creative and can think on your feet, we like that. If you're the type of person that notices the smallest detail out of place, we love that. And if you can do all that and provide outstanding customer service, then you're the person we are looking for.

Responsibilities: Meet and greet customers, go over the basic concept of the game. Closely observe the game via cameras/monitor and give strategic hints when needed. Reset the game rooms after each game. Answer phones and register bookings. Tidy up in spare time. Game Master Wages range from $11 to $15 per hour. Weekends are our busiest time, though we do occasionally have weekday games.

Who we are looking for as Game Master:

• Friendly person with strong communication skills

• Creative, with the ability to think quickly to respond to different situations in a game

• Commitment to the well being of customers

• Experience in customer service preferred

• Computer user skills with a touch of techie

• The vast majority of the work is on the weekend. You need to be willing to work on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays including evenings*

• Precise and punctual

• Flexible schedule - often bookings come in less than 24 hours in advance. (This works both ways - we will work around your schedule too.)

***Living near Ohio City is a big plus. ***

This is a part-time position with limited hours, primarily afternoon/evenings during the week and shifts any time of day or into late evening Friday-Saturday. We are super flexible in scheduling. Some of our staff have been professional writers, artists, actors, musicians, etc.
*We are also looking for people to occasionally work during the week/daytime, particularly to present a professional image to our many corporate team building clients.
