Are you looking for a fun and flexible way to supplement your income? Seeking candidates who require flexibility in schedule and want to to work part-time Seeking candidates willing to work during school hours, after school hours, evening hours or weekends. Schedule will depend on candidate's availability and fluctuating demand for programs. The primary focus of this position will be to teach Snapology programs. Instructors are asked to promote creativity, teamwork and problem solving skills while educating students on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) concepts. Programs are conducted for children ages 4-14, although not all instructors are required to teach all age groups. This role requires internal collaboration and communication with Snapology leadership as well as representing the Snapology organization to parents & children with a high degree of professionalism.

Responsibilities will include

  • Lead groups of up to 20 students through curriculum-guided activities;
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
  • Instructors will use creativity, teamwork and problem solving skills while educating students on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) concepts
  • Curriculum and training is provided to assure that you are prepared to teach the topic
  • This role requires collaboration with other instructors and assistants, communication with Snapology management as well as representing the Snapology organization to parents & children with a high degree of professionalism
  • Travel to our various partner locations around Glen Allen and Short pump Area
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom and maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of Snapology
  • Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment
  • Education degree or college students pursuing a degree in education, STEM field or a similar field are also encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
  • Own a car/insurance and valid drivers license to be able to travel to different partner locations for classes
  • Must be able to bring materials back and forth to classes when needed and must be able to lift 30+ pounds at a time
  • Criminal and Child Clearances will be required
  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
