CPA Firm in growing Metroplex area seeking Successor

Very successful sole proprietorship (Profession Corporation), having developed a public practice which is multifaceted, seeks his successor in carrying on with our clients into the future.
The firm was established in 1981, has been successful in revenue growth and servicing individuals, small solo business owners, professional offices, Partnerships, S-Corporation, Trusts, Estate and professional assistance in court cases. The owner CPA is seeking an individual who aspires to the practice of public accountancy in a growing dynamic town.
The ideal young professional would have a BBA in Accounting sufficient to sit for the CPA exam and aspire to complete the task of licensing in the next several years. This is a mid-entry level opportunity for such person.
The ideal candidate would have superior communication skills with peers, other employees and our clients. Be willing to learn the ins and outs of providing bookkeeping services to businesses through the QuickBooks line of applications. Be willing to buckle into the absorption of computer based tax preparation services and communicate to clients the results of the tax returns presented. Be willing to learn the procedures and administrative responsibilities of a tax service. Be willing to enhance their knowledge base with substantial CPE courses. That candidate, having successfully demonstrated these professional characteristics, would eventually become the “decision maker” in these matters. The transfer of the practice would be a given in this situation to the person achieving these goals.
Our firm has annual billings exceeding $3.5K, has a strong growth history, and has a tried and true employee base of 5 qualified and dedicated employees (the candidate would soon learn and understand the vital importance of these individuals and their skill sets for the successful operation of this firm) and a 71 year old CPA having practiced his trade for nearly 50 years. Our office is centrally located in our town, is in excellent condition and we have been in this location for 42 years. The CPA is not looking to “retire” but bring in a new CPA candidate full of vim and vigor, all the while assisting over the next several years by providing mentorship and guidance in the art of being a successful CPA. It is the intention of the current CPA to be available to assist the new candidate in growth, advice and encouragement to better him/her professionally, all the while providing valuable professional assistance to our clients. IF THIS IS YOU, LET US SEE YOUR STUFF.
