Position: Lead 4's Teacher
Education Requirements: College degree in early childhood
Qualifications/Requirements:
Shall be a Christian
Experience working with preschool children preferred.
Must pass a SLED background check
Must have TB test
Must have current Red Cross Infant/Child CPR and First Aid Training Certificate
Principal Function:
Support the mission, vision, and values of PLC
Assist the directors
Uphold the policies and guidelines established by the PLCP Committee
Duties:
Provide and maintain a Christian environment which enables the children to grow spiritually, physically, mentally, socially and emotionally
Plan and implement teaching program approved by PLCP Directors
Must maintain confidentiality of student/family issues
Provide special attention to each child as needed (i.e. eating, toileting, rest, play, work, health, etc)
Be knowledgeable of each child’s home environment and particular needs provided by parent on teacher information sheet
Maintain a written record of significant incidents observed and place in child’s file
Cooperate with the Directors and other teachers to schedule rooms to be shared to maximize use of available facilities
Maintain a clean and orderly room
Be well groomed and wear appropriate attire
Attend classes, workshops and other training opportunities
Supervise outdoor activities with co-teacher
Assemble children’s work to be sent home
Prepare and maintain bulletin boards/room decorations to coincide with curriculum
Provide loving support with smiles and hugs
Prepare for and conduct Parent/Teacher conferences (fours)
Provide Directors with a list of needed supplies, repairs, or materials in a timely manner
Adhere to the designated working times. Exceptions should be prearranged with Directors
Perform other duties as assigned by the Directors
Working Time Directives:
Hours are from 8:00am until 1:00pm (until 1:45p on Tuesdays if you have lunch bunch.)
Required to attend all staff meetings (2nd Wednesday of the month)
Attend other school functions (Parent Orientations, Christmas and Spring Programs)
After 6 months of employment teachers receive 5 paid leave days
Additional leave must be approved by the Directors
Scheduled staff work days provide time for personal planning and staff meetings
Personal leave time around the holidays requires pre approval by the Directors
Directors may adjust work schedules and class assignments as necessary
Probationary Period
All new personnel shall complete a three month probationary period and be evaluated prior to becoming a permanent employee.
