An excellent opportunity on the Seacoast in the vibrant town of Portsmouth for a Line Cook to join a team in a historic upscale steakhouse. We are expanding our service to include lunches and more functions and are growing our team. The Library is a top-quality, well-organized, highly established restaurant looking to add professional Line Cooks in our kitchen, following our Executive Chef’s and Sous' specifications and guidelines. The successful candidate will have a strong passion for cooking and a focus on a perfect customer experience, is comfortable in busy situations, and enjoys playing as a team.

Responsibilities
Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
Prepare food for service (e.g., chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
Answer, report, and follow the executive or sous chef’s instructions
Clean up station and take care of leftover food
Stock inventory appropriately
Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Skills
Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook, or prep cook
Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
Familiar with the industry’s best practices

The kitchen closes at nine on weekdays and ten on weekends, so there are no late nights.
